HTQ launches a revitalised strategic plan to accelerate research translation

28 June 2023

Health Translation Queensland (HTQ) embarks on an exciting new chapter with the launch of its Strategic Plan 2023-2025. The strategic plan aims to accelerate health and medical research translation for the benefit of all Queenslanders.

HTQ Executive Director Professor John Prins thanked HTQ partners for their vision and commitment to collaboration in Queensland.

“As an NHMRC-accredited Research Translation Centre, HTQ brings together many of Queensland’s universities, research institutes and health services to collaborate and translate well-evidenced research into clinical practice,” Professor Prins said.

“We can only achieve high-quality research translation through collaboration between organisations and researchers, clinicians, policymakers, health administrators, health consumers and the community.

“In the past year, HTQ has welcomed two new partners – Gold Coast Health and Griffith University – taking our membership to 13 organisations invested in improving health outcomes in our state through collaborative health and medical research.

“The new plan captures our shared vision, mission and values and agreed direction for the coming years,” Professor Prins said.

HTQ’s new Strategic Plan has three pillars:

HTQ’s work program for 2023-2024 is designed to implement the Strategic Plan, and progress HTQ’s Roadmap for Strengthening Health and Medical Research in Queensland.
