HTQ sponsorship of TRI Translation Fellowships 2026

In 2026, Health Translation Queensland is sponsoring 2 early- and mid-career research-active health professionals to participate in the 2026 Translation Pathways Program delivered by our partner organisation, the Translational Research Institute (TRI).

This opportunity supports research-active health professionals to accelerate the translation of their research by participating in one of Queensland’s leading, practice-focused translation education programs.

About the Translation Pathways Program

TRI’s Translation Pathways Program is one of TRI’s flagship educational offerings. Commencing on 1 May 2026 and ending on 30 April 2027, the 12-month program supports researchers to:

  • identify and refine their value propositions
  • develop new cross-sector collaborations
  • increase access to non-traditional funding sources
  • build the skills and confidence needed to move research towards real-world impact.

Who can apply

HTQ’s 2 sponsored TRI Translation Fellowships 2026 are open to early- to mid-career research-active health professionals, in line with TRI’s eligibility criteria for the broader program, who are employed by one of HTQ’s 6 health services partners:

  • Children’s Health Queensland
  • Metro North Health
  • Metro South Health
  • Gold Coast Health
  • West Moreton Health
  • Mater.

What HTQ sponsorship offers

The 2 successful applicants will receive:

  • full sponsorship of a TRI Translation Fellowship to participate in the 12-month TRI Translation Pathways Program 2026 (each valued at $15,000)
  • access to TRI’s structured curriculum, expert facilitation and peer cohort
  • opportunities to build collaborations across research, industry and the health system
  • dedicated support to strengthen translation readiness and funding pathways.

Applications for the HTQ sponsored TRI Translation Fellowships 2026 will open on 13 February 2026 and close on 13 March 2026.

Next steps

Applications will be assessed by a panel from HTQ’s health service partners, with selection based on merit and alignment with program objectives.

Successful applicants will be notified by 10 April 2026.

Health Translation Queensland is sponsoring 2 TRI Translation Fellowships in 2026.

HTQ sponsorship provides full support to participate in the 12-month Translation Pathways Program, removing financial barriers to accessing this flagship translation education opportunity. 

Sponsorship does not cover additional funding for professional development.

The Translation Pathways Program runs for 12 months and includes structured learning activities, facilitated sessions and cohort-based engagement.


Detailed time commitments are outlined by TRI as part of the broader program information and should be reviewed before applying.

You will gain:

  • structured support to develop and refine your research value proposition
  • exposure to new collaborators and networks across research, industry and health
  • increased understanding of non-traditional funding pathways, and
  • practical tools to progress research towards implementation and impact.

Applications are reviewed by a panel from HTQ’s health service partners panel, with assessment based on:

  • eligibility and alignment with TRI program criteria
  • demonstrated research activity and translation potential, and
  • relevance to workforce capability building across HTQ partner organisations.

Successful applicants will be notified by 10 April 2026, with the Program formally commencing on 1 May 2026.

No. HTQ sponsorship of the 2 TRI Translation Fellowships in the Translation Pathways Program covers only the Fellowship aspect of the program.
