Professor Grant Ramm
Professor Grant Ramm is Interim Director and CEO of QIMR Berghofer in Brisbane, Queensland. He is a graduate of The University of Queensland with post-doctoral training as an American Liver Foundation Fellow at St Louis University, St Louis. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and Fellow of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia.
He is internationally recognised for his research on the mechanisms of hepatic stellate cell transdifferentiation into collagen-producing myofibroblasts and translation into clinical application for the differential diagnosis, monitoring progression, predicting clinical outcome and ultimately therapeutic anti-fibrotic and anti-inflammatory development in chronic liver disease associated with haemochromatosis and paediatric cystic fibrosis.
