Executive Director, Mater Research and Director, Mater Research Institute - The University of Queensland

Professor Allison Pettit is the Executive Director at Mater Research and Director, Mater Research Institute - The University of Queensland.

Professor Pettit provides leadership and oversight of all research activities across Mater’s health care network and is responsible for the organisation meeting its scientific, research and commercial objectives. In conjunction with the Board, Professor Pettit is responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation and is committed to promoting a culture of respect, inclusion and excellence at Mater Research.

In addition to working with the Mater Research Advisory Board, Allison works with partners Mater Foundation, Mater Health, Mater Education, The University of Queensland, and the Translational Research Institute to maximise collaboration and impact.

Allison also leads the Bones and Immunology Research Group at Mater with a team of researchers working toward addressing the health care burden of bone disease and fractures as well as improving the safety of high-risk treatment approaches including bone marrow transplantation and other cancer therapies.
