01 July 2020
From today (1 July 2020), Brisbane Diamantina Health Partners (BDHP) will operate under the auspices of the University of Queensland (UQ). While this is primarily an administrative and logistical change, it is a historical moment for BDHP. BDHP Executive Director David Bunker acknowledged the important role that Metro South Hospital and Health Service has played in fostering the establishment of BDHP in 2014, and will continue to play as a committed Partner working towards BDHP’s vision. We will continue to refine and strengthen BDHP's role as Queensland’s translational research collaborative network under its new auspice. We look forward to being able to draw on and benefit from UQ's long track record and capability in supporting independent collaborative partnerships to flourish. Our change of auspice means that from now the BDHP management team is primarily based at the UQ Centre for Clinical Research at the Herston Quarter. BDHP will also maintain a presence at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
