Asset Directory

Health Translation Queensland is a member of the Herston Research and Development (R&D) Group whose purpose is to share knowledge and experience to improve organisational and operational systems, and processes across the Herston Health Precinct.

In mid 2021, the Herston R&D Group proposed the possibility of sharing and collaborating around “assets” across the membership, to increase collaborative potential, and save on time, cost and training, particularly around those assets that are expensive to purchase and highly specialised.

Members of the Herston R&D Group nominated representatives from their respective organisations to participate in an Asset Working Group to explore:

  • how we could categorise assets to understand their sharing potential and boundaries
  • the implications of sharing assets for the asset owner and asset user, and
  • the steps required to operationalise asset sharing.

Aligned with our strategic objectives to promote greater integration and collaboration, and make the business of translation easier, Health Translation Queensland convened meetings with the Asset Working Group to develop a taxonomy of assets across the Herston R&D Group membership.

Reflecting the dispersed location of the Herston R&D Group, within the Herston Health Precinct and beyond, two Asset Directories have been developed with contributions from the following organisations:

  • Griffith University
  • HBI Herston Biofabrication Institute
  • HIRF Herston Imaging Research Facility
  • HMRC Herston Medical Research Centre
  • QIMR Berghofer
  • STARS Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation
  • UQ Institute for Molecular Bioscience
  • UQ School of Dentistry
  • UQCCR Centre for Clinical Research

While not exhaustive, the Asset Directories identify equipment and infrastructure in these organisations that are available for sharing.

HTQ Asset Directories

Information within the Directories can be sorted by organisation name, location or equipment type.

For further information or questions relating to equipment (including any associated costs and access requirements), please contact the relevant organisation directly. Many of our partner organisations also retain their own database of resources, available on a fee for service basis.

If you have any feedback or would like to contribute to asset sharing, please contact us.
