With 30 years experience across the public and not‑for‑profit sectors, Tammy Sovenyhazi has built a career delivering complex social and economic reform across Australia. Her work spans the health, justice and Indigenous portfolios in Queensland and Western Australia, providing a strong national perspective on policy development, implementation and community impact.
For more than a decade, Tammy has operated at senior executive levels within Queensland Health, serving as a trusted adviser to Directors‑General, senior executives and Ministers. She is highly regarded for her mastery of executive government processes and her ability to translate complex legislative, regulatory and operational challenges into clear, actionable advice in high‑pressure environments.
Earlier leadership and whole-of-community and regional collaborations in the Western Australian not‑for‑profit sector continue to shape her approach, grounding reform in frontline and community‑led outcomes, including pioneering initiatives such as Living Change and Australia’s first Family Responsibilities Commission.
As Interim Executive Director of Health Translation Queensland, Tammy is focused on strengthening the connection between research, policy and practice to deliver real‑world health outcomes.
She holds a Master of Business Administration and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. A passionate advocate for people‑centred outcomes, Tammy brings a rare tri‑sector perspective and a deep commitment to collaboration and system‑wide impact for Queenslanders.
