Thanks to Tammy Sovenyhazi

29 September 2026

Health Translation Queensland would like to thank the departing Interim Executive Director Ms Tammy Sovenyhazi.

When the HTQ Executive Director position became vacant in April this year, Tammy was seconded from the Department of Health to cover the role for six months while formal recruitment occurred.

“I will be forever grateful to Tammy for her time with HTQ” said Dr Peter Aitken, the HTQ Board Chair, “she has worked incredibly hard, and been an experienced and steady hand that has helped stabilise HTQ and set the platform for the future”.

After making an enormous contribution to HTQ, Tammy will be taking a well-deserved short break starting Wednesday 30th September before returning to her role in the Department of Health.

HTQ not only thanks Tammy but wishes her well in her future endeavours and looks forward to working with her again in the future.

HTQ Interim Arrangements

The recruitment campaign for the Executive Director generated national and international interest with the successful candidate to be announced shortly.

During the short period between Tammy finishing and the new Executive Director starting, Dr Helen Breathnach, Senior Manager, Strategic Projects, will be the point of contact for HTQ.

Helen can be contacted through HTQ_ED@healthtranslationqld.org.au, with responsibilities shared across the HTQ Leadership Group comprising Dr Helen Breathnach, Senior Manager, Strategic Projects; Dr Laura Genovesi, Senior Manager, Strategic Projects; and Lauren Jeffery, Acting Operations Manager.

Helen, Laura and Lauren have a wealth of experience, and HTQ not only has every confidence in them, but thanks them for stepping up during this transition period.
