The purpose of the Queensland Health statement on the impact of COVID-19 on the older population is to provide guiding principles underpinning the assessment and management of older people with suspected or confirmed COVID-19. It also provides specific recommendations at a systems level to facilitate a coordinated response to the COVID-19 situation, that may mitigate the impact of this novel disease on the health system and the older population.
