New Executive Director joins Health Translation Queensland

06 November 2026

Health Translation Queensland (HTQ) is pleased to announce that Lisa Murphy has commenced in the role of Executive Director.

This follows a recruitment campaign that generated national and international interest, reinforcing HTQ’s growing reputation.

Lisa joins HTQ from the Australian Digital Health Agency and was previously at the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare.

Early in her research career, Lisa was inspired by the ability of research to transform healthcare. She is passionate about bringing together researchers, clinicians, consumers, and policymakers to lead the implementation of evidence-based innovations that improve health outcomes at scale.

This commitment has shaped a career in policy analysis and evidence-informed decision-making, along with extensive experience leading national health strategy, policy, governance and system reform across complex healthcare environments.

HTQ Board Chair, Dr Peter Aitken, welcomed the appointment.

“I am excited about working with Lisa and what she will bring, not just to HTQ and the team, but to research translation in Queensland,” said Dr Peter Aitken.

With a career dedicated to improving health systems and outcomes, Lisa's expertise will support HTQ's continued commitment to translating research into better healthcare for Queensland communities.

“I am looking forward to working with the Board, partners and the team to deliver the next phase of HTQ’s strategy and impact,” shared Lisa.

Under Lisa's leadership, HTQ will continue to build on its strong partnerships and champion collaborative approaches to addressing Queensland's health challenges.
