Data management & analytics for health care - 26 March

The second session in HTQ’s Autumn Seminar Series was on Data management and analytics for health care.

This seminar will provide insights into:

data management planning in the early stages of research projects
the importance of documentation for data reproducibility and sharing
using analytics and artificial intelligence to improve health care
applying appropriate scientific rigour in planning and executing data science projects

Presenters

Rudolf J Schnetler, Research Data Laboratory Lead, Townsville University Hospital and Health Service
In his role, Rudolf is responsible for overseeing data governance for research activities and assists researchers in data management and planning. He is focused on empowering clinical staff and researchers to utilise large datasets for data-driven decision-making and research. He founded the Research Data Laboratory in 2022, aiming to drive research outcomes by providing researchers has access to clean, accessible, and curated data within a secure environment.

Sankalp Khanna, Team leader – Health Intelligence, Principal Research Scientist, The Australian e-Health Research Centre, CSIRO; Adjunct Associate Professor, Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University.
Sankalp’s research in artificial intelligence and machine learning for operational and clinical decision support has positioned him as a leading Australian researcher with a growing international reputation. He is also a Foundation Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Digital Health and Secretary of the Pacific Rim International Conference on Artificial Intelligence Steering Committee.
