Deputy Director-General, Clinical Excellence Queensland, Queensland Health

Dr Helen Brown has extensive clinical and leadership experience with over 20 years of experience working in hospitals across Queensland Health. She holds a medical degree from the National University of Ireland, Galway, a fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists, and was awarded a Master of Philosophy from Griffith University.

Prior to taking on the role of DDG CEQ in 2022, Helen was the Director of Neurology and Stroke at the Princess Alexandra Hospital from 2014–2021, Clinical Director of the Neurosciences Division at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital from 2021 to 2022 and former co-chair of the Queensland Stroke Clinical Network. Helen continues to practice part-time clinically in the Neurology and Stroke Department at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
