Children’s Health

Overview

The Children’s Health theme drives research collaboration and clinical integration to improve health care delivery and health outcomes for children in Queensland. It provides a framework for clinicians, researchers, academics and other key stakeholders to come together to work towards a common purpose, to expand initiatives that individual members already have in place and to improve research translation. It will drive innovation and transformation by linking the activities of its members, creating opportunities to share facilities and resources, encouraging knowledge sharing and research collaboration, and by contributing to clinical and research training initiatives.

Aims

This theme aims to improve the health of children by:

  • Addressing major clinical problems facing infants, children and adolescents through a discovery-care continuum for improved health outcomes.
  • Improving methods of delivering evidence-based healthcare.
  • Promoting a healthy start to life for all children through prevention and early detection of illness and injury, thus reducing the need for hospitalisation and preventing long term health problems.
