Professor Michael Cleary
Michael is the Chief People, Engagement and Research Officer at Metro South Health and is responsible for setting and overseeing the execution of Metro South Health’s workforce, engagement, and research strategies. Having commenced working with Queensland Health in 1984, Michael has an extensive background in emergency and trauma medicine.
Michael has worked in senior level positions within health including the board of the Australian College for Emergency Medicine and Australian Council on Healthcare Standards. He has represented Queensland on the Australian Health Ministers’ Advisory Council and the Hospitals’ Principal Committee. Michael has held such roles as Deputy Director-General and Chief Operations Officer within the Queensland Department of Health and was President of the Royal Australian College of Medical Administrators and Vice-President of the Australian Medical Association Queensland.
