Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Research Network

Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Research Network

The Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Research Network (QATSIHRN) was established by HTQ in 2021, to improve the quality of Indigenous health research and outcomes.

We bring together the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research community in Queensland, advocating for and supporting stakeholder engagement and an Indigenous health research agenda developed by and for First Nations people living in Queensland.

The group collaborates to address identified health concerns through culturally-informed workforce development, research, and communication solutions. We champion conversations and initiatives that further community engagement, partnerships, and leadership for impactful health initiatives.

Key achievements

In September 2022, the network led a planning day and developed recommendations for future activities. These activities align with Australian Health Research Alliance national initiatives investing in and strengthening First Nations’ research capacity and capability.
