Draft Framework for CCI in Health Research

Draft Framework for CCI in Health Research

Open for consultation

The HTQ-led Consumer and Community Involvement (CCI) in Research Alliance has collaboratively developed a Draft Framework for CCI in Health Research. The framework is a guide for health researchers on how and when to involve consumers and the community in their health research, creating a simple, streamlined minimum standard for health services and research organisations.

The draft framework includes:

• principles for involving consumers, community and clinicians in research

• stages of involvement across the research journey

• CCI methods for different stages of research and level of involvement.

The development of the framework began at a CCI in Research Alliance workshop, which brought together more than 20 consumers, CCI leads and researchers from across the HTQ partnership. The workshop was facilitated by Amanda Newbery, Managing Director of Articulous, and expert in community and stakeholder engagement standards and approaches developed by the International Association for Public Participation Australasia (IAP2).

The CCI in Research Alliance now seeks wider feedback on the draft framework from the health research community in Queensland.

We would appreciate if you could review the draft framework and provide your input via a short survey.

The survey will only take 3-4 minutes and is anonymous. Your contribution will help shape the framework, making it a useful tool for wide adoption across health services and research organisations.

The survey is open until 30 April 2025.
