About this opportunity

The Principal Project Officer will play a key role in the delivery of Health Translation Queensland's (HTQ) clinical research and translation program of work. This position will work across a number of HTQ's work priorities to deliver a wide range of project-related activities across all phases of the project life cycle, from initial scoping and planning through to post-project evaluation activities.

The role is responsible for a range of activities across the relevant phase of project delivery, including (but not limited to) coordinating project plans, implementing project monitoring and evaluation mechanisms; ensuring project outcomes are delivered on time and within budget; engaging with key stakeholders and overseeing the project budget.

  • HEW level 7 - the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $93,254-$101,680, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $109,107-$118,966 annually

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing high-level project support to the Research Governance and Facilitation Team, under broad direction, coordinating aspects of the project life cycle, including planning, monitoring, and evaluation activities as relevant to the project phase/s.
  • Developing project-related documentation and other materials including (but not limited to): tender evaluation documentation; project plans; scoping documents; evaluation documents; project reporting templates; project updates and other communication materials; post-project reporting.
  • Planning and coordinating project-relevant engagement activities, events and education sessions including related digital communication and marketing activities.

About you

  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training
  • Demonstrated experience in a project management role, including the ability to prioritise tasks, work to tight deadlines, anticipate future requirements and resolve issues
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills using judgement and reasoning in interpreting situations and providing accurate and consistent advice
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, including flexibility and proficiency in using a wide range of computer and web applications to achieve a high standard of communication and promotional materials
  • Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, and to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders of all levels
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure, including the ability to balance competing priorities within tight timeframes, respond to new and unexpected events, and appropriately escalate issues
  • Experience in health care, health research, clinical trials environments
