MRFF Rapid Applied Research Translation projects

The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) is an ongoing research fund set up by the Australian Government to support health and medical research. Every year, the government uses some of the net interest from this long-term investment to pay for medical research initiatives. In July 2020, the fund grew to $20 billion.

The MRFF Rapid Applied Research Translation (RART) initiative invests in transformative, translational research projects that encourage academic researchers and health service providers to collaborate to improve healthcare delivery, services and health system sustainability. The initiative provides $218 million over 10 years.

Health Translation Queensland has distributed funding to a range of late-stage translational research projects through the MRFF RART program.
