National health research data catalogue: Queensland node launch – 23 October 2023

On 18 July the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) launched Health Data Australia (HDA), a new national catalogue making sharing and requesting access to data from health studies easier. The catalogue for sharing clinical trial data was co-designed by the ARDC, experts and representatives from the Health Studies Australian National Data Asset (HeSANDA) network. HeSANDA is a national network of 72 health research organisations working collaboratively as 9 nodes – including the Queensland node – to give researchers better access to health data.

Queensland node launch

On 23 October 2023, Health Translation Queensland officially launched the Queensland node. At this event, Queensland’s health research community found out about:

  • background and aims of the HeSANDA project
  • what Health Data Australia is
  • why data sharing is important
  • how a clinical triallist in Queensland can upload trials into the Queensland node so this data is identifiable in Health Data Australia.
