Brisbane Diamantina Health Partners has welcomed the Medical Research Future Fund’s (MRFF) Strategy and Priorities, saying it should lead to better health outcomes for local communities. Brisbane Diamantina Health Partners participated in the development of the Strategy and Priorities through the submission process earlier this year, focusing on the contribution Advanced Health Research Centres could make to Australia’s health outcomes. Brisbane Diamantina Health Partners Board Chair Professor David Siddle said the organisation applauded both the strategic approach taken by the Advisory Board and the breadth of the platforms that have been outlined. BDHP was especially pleased to see reference to working with Advanced Health Research and Translation Centres (AHRTCs) in the Priorities. “The inclusion of AHRTCs in the Trials and Translation Priority recognises the importance of integration of research, education and clinical care to deliver quality health outcomes for communities,” Professor Siddle said. “Brisbane Diamantina Health Partners is a partnership of eight of Queensland’s leading hospital and health services, universities and research institutes with a primary objective to deliver solutions to health issues affecting thousands of Queenslanders,” he said. “There are many touch points for Brisbane Diamantina Health Partners in these Priorities; we concentrate on increasing collaboration across professions and health disciplines, sharing and management for key health and research data, and streamlining research ethics and governance to enhance the translation of ideas from bench to bedside. “Congratulations to the Advisory Board and to Chair Professor Ian Frazer on this documentation and process and we look forward to the outcomes in health across Queensland.”Quicklinks
